From the Cape Cod Chronicle - With Federal Cuts, Food Pantries Brace For ‘Tsunami’ Of Need

Rising demand at Cape Cod’s food pantries isn’t news; it’s been the case for a number of years. But those who fight hunger on Cape Cod say that federal economic policies and cuts to key federal departments have set the stage for a crisis.

Summer 2025 Meal Program - June 23-August 29!

Food 4 Kids partners with community-sponsored recreation and education programs across the 8 communities on the lower/outer Cape, from Harwich to Provincetown. Together we distribute free lunches, snacks and books to 500+ children each summer weekday while school is out. We make, pack and deliver these meals with a very small paid staff and the generous efforts of volunteers.

Join us in the fight against childhood hunger by giving or volunteering. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of children and build a brighter, healthier future.

SUPPORTING LOCAL FAMILIES

Food 4 Kids helps local families make ends meet by providing free meals for kids at more than 15 sites across 8 towns, from Harwich to Provincetown. See our locations by clicking here.

Did you know …. ?

  • An average of 38% of the kids enrolled in public schools on the Lower/Outer Cape qualify as low-income based on state-wide cost of living.
